MacGPS Pro is a handy tool that works with Garmin and Magellan GPS receivers. It lets you transfer Waypoints, Routes, Tracklogs, and even GPS satellite Almanacs. What’s cool is that it works with almost all brands of GPS receivers, giving you a real-time display of your GPS info on a moving map right on your Mac screen!
This software makes it super easy to import maps from many different sources. You can check out these maps even without connecting to a GPS receiver. Plus, if you do connect, it shows your current position and speed in real-time—pretty neat, huh?
MacGPS Pro supports most handheld and fixed-mount Garmin and Magellan GPS devices (just a heads-up: some Magellan units with USB interfaces aren't compatible). You can upload and download Waypoints (with their Icons), Proximity Waypoints, Routes, Track Logs, and Satellite Almanacs without any fuss.
When you transfer coordinates, the software displays a map showing the data you've sent over. All this info is saved in editable text files that are tab-delimited. This means sharing data with spreadsheets or databases is super easy!
You can also collect raw NMEA data into a file! Then you can play it back just like the GPS receiver was connected. And if you want to speed things up or slow them down during playback? No problem!
The software allows you to use maps as backgrounds for creating and editing your own Waypoints, Routes, and Tracklogs visually. It's an awesome way to customize your navigation experience!
