Description
LXPanel is an open source graphical software, an applet to be more exact, which is used on the Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment (LXDE) as a panel, taskbar, and application launcher.
LXPanel is a user-friendly launcher with a menu automatically generated from *.desktop files on the system, it features taskbar urgency hint, notification area (system tray), digital clock, run dialog, network status icon, and volume control.
The project also includes the lxpanelctl tools, an external controller that lets users to control LXPanel in other programs. LXPanel is based on the fbpanel project, which was created by Anatoly Asviyan, and can be used on other desktop environments and windows managers too.
