What is Kaspersky 2012 Database Updater?

Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Internet Security 2012 Update Utility

Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 need regular updates to keep your devices safe. To do this, you can use a special update utility. You’ll need to run it manually from another computer or a USB flash drive connected to the internet.

How It Works

When you launch the utility for the first time, it will download all the necessary databases and modules that are available up to that moment. These files will be saved in a special folder next to the update utility.

First Update Takes Time

The first time you run this utility might take a while because of the large size of the updates. But don’t worry! For any future runs, it will only load recently released updates that are missing.

Updating Without Internet Connection

If your computer doesn’t have an internet connection, follow these simple steps:

  1. Save the folder containing the utility onto your USB flash drive and connect it to an internet-enabled computer. Then, run the Updater.bat file.

  2. Once done, plug your flash drive into the offline computer with Kaspersky installed. Set up Kaspersky to look for updates in the folder on your USB (the Updates folder).
