Kana Test

Kana Test is a neat little Windows app designed to help you test your knowledge of Japanese characters, specifically Hiragana and Katakana. If you're looking to brush up on your skills or just starting out, this tool is perfect for you!

Portable and Easy to Use

This app is super portable! You can save it on a USB flash drive or any other device. What’s cool is that you don’t need admin rights to run it on another computer. And if you decide you no longer want it, just delete the file—no messy registry entries left behind!

Simple Design and Customization

When you open Kana Test, you'll notice a clean and user-friendly design. You can easily tweak settings related to your tests. While there isn’t a help manual included, the options are pretty straightforward, so figuring them out shouldn’t be too hard.

Select Your Characters

Kana Test lets you pick which symbols to include in your quiz—Hiragana, Katakana, or even both! You can also specify how many questions you'd like in each test and whether you want hints or not.

Your Learning Journey

The training mode requires you to write the correct answer for the displayed Japanese character. The tests are easy to navigate; Kana Test shows a Japanese character and gives you multiple choices for answers. If you get one wrong, it’ll show the correct answer right away!

Track Your Progress with Statistics

You’ll be able to see stats for both Hiragana and Katakana tests, including how many questions were asked, the date of the test, and how many answers were correct or incorrect.

Performance Testing

We tested Hiragana and Katakana on Windows 8.1 Pro, and everything ran smoothly! The app doesn’t take up much system memory at all, so it won’t slow down your computer while you're studying.
