iSurveill is a handy little tool that lets you record webcam activity. It's designed to enhance your socializing experience, thanks to modern tech like apps and devices such as microphones and webcams. But it also has some surveillance capabilities, giving you quick and high-quality results based on your device.

Lightweight Features of iSurveill

This app is pretty lightweight in terms of system resources and features. Just a heads-up, though: you need to have Adobe AIR installed on your computer for everything to work smoothly.

User Interface Overview

The main window of iSurveill has a fixed size with a decent preview area, plus options and controls all laid out for you. However, one downside is that it can only capture still images—no video clips here!

Recording Options

You'll find some useful options like a manual trigger for recording sessions, a button for taking snapshots, and even an automated capture option using the motion sensor. Plus, there's real-time preview available too! But keep in mind that the pictures are taken at least every 10 seconds (that's 10000 ms), which might miss some action.

Lack of Automatic Features

A bummer about iSurveill is that there's no automatic stop feature for recording sessions. If you forget to hit the stop button, you'll end up with lots of snapshots filling up your folder at those set intervals.

No Quality Settings Available

The app doesn't have any quality settings either; it only saves images in JPG format. If you want to edit or enhance those pics later, you'll need other software for that. Plus, if you want to tweak webcam color settings, you'll have to go through your driver or operating system control panel since there isn't a quick access button.

Resolution Limitations

The output resolution isn't too impressive either; images save at just 640 x 480 max. So overall, while iSurveill has its perks as a surveillance application, it's not quite what many might expect—especially with no video recording support and limited configuration options.
