Automatic Saving of Screenshots

Your captured images are saved in the ‘Pics’ subfolder of the main folder for Gumshoe. They are stored in JPG format, which is great for quick sharing or viewing. There’s also a timer displayed in the main window so you can see how long it’s been since you started capturing images.

Viewing and Managing Your Photos

You can easily check out these images using another app if you want, or just use Gumshoe’s built-in slideshow feature to preview them. If you decide you don’t need those photos anymore, it’s easy to delete all taken pictures when closing Gumshoe.

Filtering Options Available

This software also gives you options to filter your photos by preset dates or even jump to a specific date that you set yourself. The GUI has buttons that let you control the slideshow easily; switching between images and adjusting the speed with a slider is a breeze!

Limitations to Consider

However, there are some downsides. For instance, Gumshoe only saves screenshots as JPG files, so if you're looking for formats like BMP, PNG, TIF, or GIF, you'll be out of luck. You also can't change where screenshots are saved or set hotkeys for easier access.

Overall, Gumshoe offers a straightforward solution for automatically snapping pictures of your screen. Just keep in mind that it hasn’t been updated in some time, which might lead to compatibility issues on newer operating systems like Windows 8.
