Grappl

Grappl is a cool Java-based launcher that lets you host public servers right from your computer. It does this by sending data through relay servers, which is pretty neat! Since it works as a TCP tunnel, you can use it with any server that supports the TCP protocol.

Connecting to Grappl

When you open up the Grappl main window, you have two options: connect to your account or hop on anonymously. If you decide to register for a free account, you’ll unlock some awesome features. You can check out usage stats in your web browser, like how many connections are routed and how much data is moving in and out. Plus, there’s an option to become an alpha tester for new features!

Selecting Your Relay Server

In the Grappl Advanced Connection Panel, you get to pick which relay server to use. This feature is super handy since the Grappl project even lets you set up your own relay servers. So if you're feeling adventurous, why not give it a shot?

Getting Started with Grappl

To kick things off with Grappl, all you need to do is enter the port number for the server you want to host when prompted. The launcher will handle everything else for you! Once set up, you’ll see your server’s public address in the Grappl window—just copy that link and share it with anyone who wants to join in.

Your Server Stats at a Glance

The same window shows important details like the local port being used by your server, how many clients are connected, and the amount of data sent and received. If you're curious about more specific info, just open the Grappl Console. There you'll find IP addresses of connected users and other connection statuses.
