Getting Started with Gradebook

Using Gradebook isn’t too tricky. Just remember you need a compatible version of FileMaker, version 12 or higher, to open it since it uses the FMP12 file format.

Logging In

When you first open Gradebook, you’ll need to log in using the default username and password: ‘Teacher’ and ‘12345’. Make sure to change these right away so no one else can sneak in!

Main Features of Gradebook

The main screen lets you jump into different sections like ‘Terms’, ‘Task Categories’, ‘Courses’, or even change your password. In the ‘Terms’ section, you can set start and end dates for each school term.

Assessments & Attendance

In the ‘Task Categories’ area, define how you'll grade students—be it through tests, homework assignments, projects, or labs. Each category can have its own weight in the final grade.

Create & Manage Courses

The ‘Courses’ section lets you add new subjects or tweak existing ones. You can even create a seating plan or take attendance there. If a student is absent, just select the reason from an easy drop-down menu!
