Google News Reader is a handy little tool that helps you keep up with the latest news from around the world. With everything changing so fast, it's super helpful to have all the important headlines right at your fingertips. Whether you like checking in on TV, radio, or online news, this app makes it easy!
The app opens in a neat and tidy window where you can quickly jump into different categories. Want to check out top stories? How about world events, entertainment, health, or even some sci/tech news? Just one click and you're there! It's like having a personal news assistant.
You'll see a small paragraph with info about each article. The newest ten entries pop up for you to scroll through easily. If something catches your eye, just hit a button to read the whole article in your web browser or bookmark it for later.
If you want to share an article via email, there's an option for that too! Just make sure your credentials are set up. But here's the catch: we found that even with a Google account, it didn't always work perfectly. It would be awesome if this feature was more reliable.
If you're busy and on the move, you can save articles using the bookmarks manager. Your favorite reads get stored in a special menu just for them. However, there's no way to sort these bookmarks or see their parent categories which might make things a bit tricky.
Overall, Google News Reader does its job pretty well even though there are some things we wish were different. It takes up hardly any space on your desktop while keeping you updated on almost any topic of interest. It would be nice if they fixed that email sharing issue and added alerts so you'd know when new stuff is posted without having to check all the time.
