Description

Google Assistant Unofficial Desktop Client

Description

Although not as popular as Siri or Alexa, Google Assistant made its debut in 2016 and was initially designed as an extension for Google Now. The latter is no longer supported, but it appears that Google Assistant is still there and can provide you with the same help as the more popular virtual assistants. The only problem is setting it up.

Google Assistant Unofficial Desktop Client is a tool designed to help make the virtual assistant your own.

While installing the application is a simple and straightforward process, the same cannot be said about configuring it. Thankfully, you have a guide within the app that takes you through the whole process. Since the tool is based on Google Assistant SDK, first you need to create a new model from the Action Console.

Granted, once you create a model there, you can immediately download the Oath 2.0 credentials. However, the app still needs a token, and you can obtain that by configuring the consent. Provided you followed the steps indicated, you should be able to add the authentication file and paste the token and start using the Google Assistant.

As you probably hinted, you may need to do further configuration to enable the personal results. This step is optional but works great if you are planning on using the assistant with Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Photos, and other similar Google products.

The assistant works with both text and voice, so feel free to make the most of it with your preferred method. Regardless of your choice, Google Assistant Unofficial Desktop Client is able to do all the tasks any virtual assistant would, including, but not limited to opening apps, searching the web, controlling the music, running timer and reminders, or providing real-time spoken translations.
