Description

gnome-menus is an open source and free software that is part of the GNOME desktop environment, providing the libgnome-menu library.

Also contained here are the GNOME menu layout configuration files, .directory files, as well as a simple menu editor.

The libgnome-menu library contained in this package implements the "Desktop Menu Specification" from freedesktop.org: http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/menu-spec and http://specifications.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/menu-spec-latest.html.

gnome-menus is part of the powerful GNOME desktop environment, but it is provided as a independent package, which can be reconfigured, built and installed on other window managers.
