Gloss is a super handy app to have when you want to check out multiple websites and easily hop to your favorite pages.
When you first open Gloss, you'll need to start by opening a new tab and typing in the URL. Just make sure you get the whole address right, or it won’t work! If you want to close a tab, just use the button provided because there’s no right-click menu or 'Ctrl+W' shortcut available.
This app lets you load as many webpages as you want thanks to its multi-tabbed setup. But here’s the catch: it doesn’t show the website names on the title bar, which can be a bit tricky when you're juggling multiple tabs. On the bright side, you can use ‘Alt+Tab’ to switch between websites quickly!
If you're looking for a solid web browser, Gloss might not be your best bet. It misses out on some basic features like bookmarks, spell check, private browsing, and even a download manager—things most browsers have these days.
You also can’t see recently closed tabs or bookmark your favorite sites. Plus, organizing them isn’t an option either. If you need to go back and forth on a webpage, you'll have to use the buttons on the main toolbar since 'Backspace' isn’t supported.
A neat feature is that when you hit the ‘Search’ button, it automatically takes you to Google. No matter what tab you're on, this can save time by letting you search without opening Google manually!
Gloss runs on the Gecko Rendering Engine but still has room for improvements. Right now, it only lets you type in URLs manually and browse through your favorite pages.
If you're curious about trying out Gloss, it's worth checking out if you're okay with its limitations!
