Free PDF to JPG is a command-line utility you can use to extract images from PDF documents and save them as JPEG files. It can be tackled not only by experienced users, but also those unfamiliarized with CLI tools.

How to Use Free PDF to JPG

The way you use it is super simple. Just type p2j file.pdf, replacing file.pdf with the name of your PDF. Once you hit Enter, it will work its magic and create a new folder called PDF_to_JPG_files. This folder is where all your extracted images will go.

Folder Limitations

Just a heads up: if the PDF_to_JPG_files folder already exists, the tool won't work since it can't overwrite anything or create a new folder with a different name. So if you try this and run into issues, check for that empty subfolder! If there's no graphical content in your PDF, it'll also create an empty one. Make sure to delete that before you start again.

No Installation Needed!

The coolest part? You don't need to install anything! Free PDF to JPG is portable. This means you can just drop the downloaded files wherever you like on your computer or even onto a USB stick. Then, you can run it on any computer by calling it up from the Command Prompt - super easy!

Smooth Performance

This tool runs like a charm! During our tests, we found that it didn’t hang or crash our operating system at all. It works quickly while being light on system resources too. However, keep in mind that it can only handle one PDF at a time when extracting images.
