Fonticate is a handy tool for checking out different fonts on your computer. Even if you’re using a regular keyboard, that doesn’t mean your text has to look the same all the time! Your computer comes loaded with tons of font styles, and there are even more available for download. If you’re curious about how these fonts look, Fonticate lets you browse through all the installed ones with ease.
The best part? You don’t need to waste time installing it! Once you download Fonticate, you can start using it right away. Plus, if you're on the go, you can save it on a thumb drive and check out fonts on other computers too. And don't worry about messing up your registry; everything stays nice and tidy.
The app has a classic window frame design that’s easy to navigate. You’ll see a big scrollable list where all the fonts are displayed. There’s even a default text string ready for you to preview any font style without lifting a finger. Want to try something specific? There's a spot where you can type in your own characters!
When you're looking at the font previews, you'll see the names right there too! Just keep in mind that the sample text takes up most of the space. So, keep your input short because you can't resize the main window or wrap text inside it.
One thing to note is that Fonticate only shows standard styles—no options for bold, italic, or underline when you're pasting formatted text either. Also, it doesn’t tell you how many fonts are in your list or allow copying of any particular font style's text.
All in all, Fonticate is a simple tool that helps you play around with different characters so you can pick just the right font for your projects. While it lacks some features like viewing text attributes or copying styled text, its straightforward design makes it easy to use!
