Getting Started with EnvKey

When you first install EnvKey, you’ll need to sign up. Just pop in your email and the security token you get sent after that. Easy peasy! After signing up, you’ll also create an organization by entering a name and a master passphrase. This passphrase is used for encrypting everything, keeping it all under wraps.

User-Friendly Interface

The app has a simple and clear interface. On the left side, you can see all your apps and users connected to them. There are four main sections for each app: Variables, EnvKeys, Collaborators, and Settings.

Manage Your Variables Effortlessly

You’ll want to add all your development, staging, and production variables in the Variables section right away. The second tab is called EnvKeys, where you can create server or development EnvKeys with just a few clicks.

Collaborate Securely with Team Members

The third section lets you share configurations safely with your team. You can invite collaborators and assign them one of three access levels: ADMIN, DEVOPS, or DEVELOPER.

The ADMIN level has the most power; they can view and manage all environments plus edit app settings and invite others. DEVOPS users can edit environments but don’t have full control like ADMINs do. The DEVELOPER level allows collaborators to view and edit only development and staging settings.
