eCAL is a user-friendly tool that makes designing custom artwork and cutting shapes with Sizzix eclips electronic cutting machines super easy.

Getting Started with eCAL

When you open the app, you'll see a virtual cutting mat. You can choose between sizes like 12” by 12” or 12” by 24”, or even set your own custom dimensions. This feature is really handy because it lets you see how your design will look and where everything will go before you make any cuts.

Work Efficiently with Multiple Tabs

One cool thing about eCAL is that you can work in different tabs at the same time. This is especially useful if your design needs to spread across several sheets of paper.

Add Shapes and Text Easily

You can add all sorts of shapes to your mat! They’re all available in the program's object library, neatly sorted into categories for easy access. Plus, if you want to add custom text, you can use any font on your computer. You can place it normally, vertically, or even curve it along a line!

Create Custom Designs with Drawing Tools

eCAL also has a drawing tool for creating unique designs directly on the virtual mat. It guides you through making straight lines by letting you pick start and end points for each segment.

Perfect Curves Made Simple

If you're looking to draw curves, it’s just as easy! Just drag your mouse, and eCAL shows a tangent line that helps shape your curve perfectly.

Importing Artwork Made Easy

You can bring in vector artwork from files like SVG, EPS, PDF, AI, SCUT, and WPC without breaking a sweat. Want to use a JPG, BMP, GIF or PNG image? No problem! Just remember you'll need to trace it first to convert it into vector format before cutting.
