DWGViewX is a neat ActiveX component that developers can easily add to their software. This tool lets users open and view AutoCAD drawings in DWG and DXF formats. So, no need to go through the hassle of installing the full CAD application just for this!
The interface of DWGViewX has a classic look and feels pretty straightforward. You get a simple window where you can open your DWG and DXF files to see the designs.
If your drawing has multiple layouts, you can easily hide any of them from view. Plus, zooming in and out is a breeze! You can fit the drawing to your window or pan around using your mouse. Want to declutter? Just hide the toolbar!
Another cool feature is that you can integrate DWGViewX into Windows Explorer. This means you can open CAD drawings straight from the right-click menu on files! You also have options like customizing font settings, changing background colors, and printing your drawings.
During our tests, we found that DWGViewX runs smoothly without crashing or freezing up. It doesn’t hog system resources either, using minimal CPU and RAM.
That said, it hasn’t been updated in a while, so it might lack some advanced features compared to newer tools. Still, for software developers looking for a friendly CAD viewer for DWG and DXF files, DWGViewX is definitely worth considering!
