Setting up Dive Log Book is quick and straightforward. Just remember, since it’s built on Java, you’ll need to have the right Runtime Environment installed on your device. The cool thing is that because it's platform-independent, you can use it on any device that supports Java.
The design of Dive Log Book is super intuitive. You won't feel lost when you start using it! There are several tabs that let you easily access different types of info like dive data, notes, weather conditions, and statistics. Even though you can't import documents directly into the app, entering numbers and text is simple enough that this isn't really a problem.
When you open the app, you'll see a main tab for entering your diving data right away. It includes a neat layout where you can add details like time spent diving and both average and maximum depths. Plus, every entry gets automatically tagged with the date and location so keeping track is easy-peasy!
You can also add photos from your dives! Just keep in mind you'll need to upload them one at a time since there’s no option to select multiple files at once. There's also space for notes where you can jot down anything important—whether that’s about training sessions or cool wrecks you've found.
Dive Log Book even lets you create fun slideshows from your uploaded photos which might inspire you to take even more next time! All the details you've entered are clearly displayed so sharing with friends is super easy.
You can export your logs in various formats too! Save them as plain TXT files, create HTML pages for websites, or generate PDF documents if needed. If you're ready to print something out, just hit a button and you're good to go!
