Display Brightness is a super lightweight and portable app that shows your laptop's brightness level right in the systray area. It’s pretty handy!

Simple to Use

Now, before we get too excited, let’s clear something up: this app doesn’t actually change the brightness of your monitor. If you need to adjust your screen, you can use Windows' built-in settings or another program that does that. Also, keep in mind that it only works if you're using a laptop with brightness controls via WMI and running Windows Vista or 7.

How It Works

Once you launch the app, it pops an icon into your taskbar notifications area and just sits there quietly—no annoying interruptions. It automatically detects and displays the current brightness level inside the icon. You can even see it when you hover over it with your mouse.

Easy Access Menu

If you right-click on the tray icon, you'll get a small menu where you can pause hotkeys or stop the script without having to close everything down. Pretty convenient! But just so you know, there aren’t many other settings available.

No Installation Needed

This tool doesn’t come wrapped in a setup package, which is nice because you can save the files wherever you'd like on your computer or even carry them on a USB flash drive for when you're on the go. Plus, it doesn’t mess with your system registry or create any extra files without asking.

Smooth Performance

In our tests, Display Brightness worked like a charm! It didn’t crash our operating system or throw up error messages. And guess what? It barely used any CPU or RAM either!

Lack of Customization

The downside? There’s not much room for customization if you're an advanced user looking for more options or configurations. Oh, and just a heads-up: it hasn’t had any updates in quite some time.
