DB Solo program is a cross-platform, commercial and powerful software project that allows Java developers to create and manage databases with a minimal effort as possible. It is designed to be used by both programmers and database administrators (DBAs). It features a user-friendly interface that enables you to easily manage and explore database objects, as well as to run their own ad-hoc queries.

Key features include support for multiple simultaneous database connections, support for all major DBMS (Database management systems) products, a schema scripting tool, the ability to browse and manage database structures with a few mouse clicks, a SQL data import tool, a SQL export tool, a database table data synchronization and comparison tool, as well as the ability to drop and create common database objects via advanced DBA features.

The software comes with an editor and debugger tool for Oracle Stored Procedures, a database search tool, stored procedure editors for SQL server and Sybase, a database schema comparison tool that includes schema synchronization capabilities, as well as a J2EE code generator for POJOs, JUnit tests, a JDBC persistence layer that uses the DAO pattern, and EJB 3.0 annotations.

Another interesting feature is the built-in support for ad-hoc SQL queries, which can be entered in the query window, supporting autocomplete, multiple result sets, explain plan, syntax coloring and persisted query history.

With DB Solo you can view table references in a list or graph format, view XML and ASN.1 data in a tree format, view rows related to a highlighted table row, view JPG, PNG or GIF images stored in BLOB (Binary large object) columns, as wel as to store database objects and frequently used queries.

Being written entirely in the Java programming language, DB Solo is a platform-indepenent application that has been successfully tested under the GNU/Linux, BSD, Solaris, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It runs well on both 64-bit and 32-bit hardware platforms.
