Data-XRay is a handy set of software tools designed to help you dig into the details of your data media and files. With Data-XRay, you can easily display information from CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, magnetic disks, and various data files. It's like having a magnifying glass for your digital stuff!

What's Included in Data-XRay?

This package comes with three cool utilities:

• CD-XRay: A low-level CD-ROM explorer.


• Disk-XRay: A low-level disk explorer.


• File-XRay: A low-level file explorer.

Diving into CD-XRay

CD-XRay is perfect for checking out what's really inside your CD-DAs, CD-ROMs, and DVD-ROMs. It shows the sectors either in cooked mode (which means just user data) or in raw mode (which includes headers, user data, and error correction codes). It gives you all the classical navigation tools you need to see the actual contents of those data sectors.

This tool focuses on sectors specifically, which is super helpful if you're dealing with files that don't fit the usual 512-byte size that most hexadecimal editors use. If you're looking to get deep into your data organization, this feature is a must-have!

Navigating with Disk-XRay

Disk-XRay, on the other hand, lets you explore what's really going on inside magnetic disks. It shows you the raw contents of the sectors and offers classic navigation functions to view those actual contents too. This utility works below the partitioning scheme of physical hard disks—pretty neat for anyone needing to manage their disk space!

The File Explorer: File-Xray

File-Xray serves as a traditional file hexadecimal viewer/editor. Just like its siblings, it has classic navigation features to show real contents of data sectors. Plus, it provides analytical displays for specific data structures it recognizes—think MacBinary or Binhex files.
