CSS Image Embedder is a handy C# Winforms application that helps you tidy up your CSS files. It scans through your CSS for any image references that look like this: url(somefile.jpg). Pretty neat, right?
What Does It Do?
Once it finds those image links, the magic happens! This app encodes each image using something called the data URI scheme. After encoding, it swaps out the original references in your CSS with the encoded data. So, instead of linking to an external image, you can actually embed images right into your CSS files!
A Quick Note!
Note: While this program works great with CSS files, it can also handle HTML pages and similar types of files. But there's a catch! It only works if the images are used in inline CSS styles. So if you're using image tags or other methods to include images, they won't be affected.
