CrossCloud is a handy little OS X tool that quietly works in the background to sync files from various cloud storage services right to your Mac. It's great because it doesn't get in your way!
As soon as you link the app to an account (sometimes through your web browser), CrossCloud kicks off the syncing process. It works with popular services like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, OwnCloud, and WebDAV accounts. Plus, you can connect multiple accounts from the same service!
When you first launch the CrossCloud app, it will ask if you want to create a free account. But no pressure! You can skip that and just start syncing accounts right away. If you do have an account, there's also a special version called CrossCloud Aurora for managing cloud storage for teams.
The design of CrossCloud is super minimalist, which makes it easy to use. You'll see helpful tooltips for main functions like adding accounts, opening your sync folder, checking sync status, or diving into settings.
If you're using certain types of accounts, CrossCloud will open up an authorization page in your default web browser. So make sure you're logged into the account and give permission for CrossCloud to manage it.
The main window shows a list of recently synced files along with how many items still need downloading. If you need a break from syncing, just hit pause and resume whenever you're ready.
The sync folder opens up in Finder so you can interact with all included files without any hassle. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to tell which files belong to which cloud service.
You can check out active accounts and see how much space you're using through the Settings menu in CrossCloud. This is also where you can turn on encryption or change your sync folder if needed.
In summary, CrossCloud offers an easy way to access and manage content stored across different cloud solutions—all data gets synced into one folder! So no more stressing about where files are located.
Just remember that since CrossCloud is still in beta stage, some features might not work perfectly all the time. But overall, it's a solid option for keeping everything organized!
