There are many reasons why one might want to have a reliable system monitor "close at hand." It doesn't really matter whether you're a Windows users, or a macOS and Linux user, a system monitor will always come in handy.

Thankfully, there are a lot of very competent system monitor apps out there for each and everyone. CPU Info is one such application, a KMP application that provides real-time and useful information regarding your device's hardware and software usage.

CPU Info is a free, fully open-source, and more importantly, cross-platform application. It works on pretty much all the popular platforms out there including Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as Android.

As expected from such an app, the app is capable of providing lots of useful information about your system including some real-time usage statistics.

These include CPU and GPU specifications, RAM and storage data usage and state, various generic OS details, sensor data, hardware info, as well as CPU temperature.

Clearly, CPU Info is not exactly impressive. For a day-to-day user it might be enough, but for a system administrator, for instance, it just falls a bit short.

CPU Info is a decent little app that works as intended, but I can't get over the way it looks.

I understand the fact that it's open-source and cross-platform (which means the GUI has to cater to most OSes and platforms), but there's really no getting around the fact that it looks a bit outdated (even though the app is clearly not an old app).

CPU Info can't compete with some of the other apps of this sort (including some open-source alternatives) out there. I would have loved a more stylish GUI, as well as a bit more integration (but I also understand the fact that it's not that easy considering that the app is designed to work on all platforms).
