CAM Template Editor is a handy tool that makes creating and managing XML templates super easy, even for advanced users. Plus, it's free and open-source!
The setup is pretty straightforward—nothing too complicated. Once you're done, you'll see a big window with an organized layout that showcases the CAM Template Editor interface.
You can start building a new template either from scratch or by using XML, XSD, or JSON code. Just remember to save your file before diving in; it needs to be in either CAM or CXF format.
If you want to add new structures, just provide an XML file or enter the root element name for your new XML. You can edit and fix your code, add constraints related to items in your structure, and set rules. Not to mention, you can change annotations and point out child elements or attributes!
The source code can be viewed in its own window, which is super handy. You can also export it as a file! There's tabular and interactive documentation available too. If you like visuals, you can even view the template as a mind map.
Your project can be exported into various formats like CXF, XSD schema, or model. You can also export the template pick list, compressed templates, or XML documentation easily.
CAM Template Editor gives you great tools for evaluating templates and managing dictionaries or database connections. You can expand and rename templates as needed too! Plus, customize the editor's colors and adjust how detailed your mind map is.
The tool runs smoothly on most PCs without hogging CPU or RAM resources during our tests. However, we did encounter a few errors when tweaking preferences. But hey! It's totally worth trying out CAM Template Editor yourself to see if it fits your needs for creating, designing, and exporting XML templates.
