Description
CAFE (Computational Analysis of gene Family Evolution) is a straightforward OS X Java application designed to help scientist analyze changes in gene family size.
CAFE uses a random birth and death process in order to model gene gain and loss across a user specified tree structure.
The distribution of family sizes generated under the random model provides a basis for assessing the significance of the observed family size differences among taxa.
