Bytescout XLS Viewer

Bytescout XLS Viewer is a handy tool that lets you open spreadsheet files with ease. You don’t need Microsoft Excel or any other bulky office software to see your data. It supports various file types like XLS (Excel 97-2003), XLSX (Excel 2007-2013), ODS (OpenOffice Calc), and CSV format.

Easy Installation Process

The installation is quick and straightforward. You can even set Bytescout XLS Viewer to open any of the supported file types right away. Just remember that it requires the .NET Framework. Once you’re all set up, you’ll find a simple interface that’s easy to navigate, even if it doesn’t have fancy graphics.

Navigating Your Spreadsheets

When you open a file, you can easily check out each sheet and see all the rows and columns of data. You can edit information, copy and paste cells, print your document, or even save it as an HTML webpage! However, keep in mind that drag-and-drop for opening files isn’t available.

Performance Insights

The tool loaded our spreadsheet files pretty quickly during tests. Thankfully, it didn’t slow down our computer because it uses very little CPU and RAM—always a plus!

A Few Drawbacks

However, we did run into some errors when trying to open certain files. It’s also worth mentioning that Bytescout XLS Viewer hasn’t received an update in quite some time, which shows in its interface design.
