Bottle is a cool browser made for Bitcoin tech enthusiasts, rather than your everyday web users. It lets you upload files right to the Bitcoin network! If you're familiar with the basics of the Bitcoin blockchain, you know that these files—whether they’re documents, videos, images, or other formats—are permanent and can even be turned into monetizable Bitcoin transactions.

What Makes Bottle Unique?

The whole idea behind Bottle is to help you browse the Bitcoin network for all sorts of content. You can gather everything using special Bitcoin URI schemes like B:\/\/ and C:\/\/. How Does It Work?

Bottle is built with Electron and other web technologies by a team who totally gets why we need a product just for the Bitcoin network. You see, the architecture of the Bitcoin network is different from what we call the “old web.” This difference helped developers create new ways for users to interact that are better suited for this unique environment.

Understanding URI Schemes

As I mentioned earlier, Bottle supports both B:\/\/ and C:\/\/ URI schemes. The B:\/\/ scheme is meant for public files and uses the Bitcoin transaction ID as its URI. Meanwhile, C:\/\/ generates URIs based on file content instead of transaction IDs.

Crawling Through Blockchain

In simpler terms, Bottle connects to B:\/\/ and C:\/\/ endpoints so users can “crawl” through the Bitcoin blockchain while uploading content as Docker containers using the Planaria network.

User-Friendly Interface

Even though there's a lot going on under the hood with this browser, its interface looks pretty similar to most browsers you might be used to. You’ll find basic buttons like Forward, Backward, Refresh, and even an address bar (just remember it uses b:\/\/ addresses instead of HTTP or HTTPS). Plus, there's a handy navigation panel on the right side and support for multiple tabs!
