Description

BFGMiner is an open source, multiplatform, free and highly acclaimed command-line software that can be used for mining Bitcoins using the ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) technologies.

Key features include overclocking support, fan speed control, monitoring, remote management, Scrypt support, X-Reject-Reason support, multi-device support, numerous device drivers for Bitcoin, as well as a built-in getwork and stratum proxy server.

It comes with a wide range of command-line options, such as the ability to allow the API to access only a given list of IP addresses, enable API, enable API Multicast listener, add a code in the API Multicast reply, add a description to the API status header and API Multicast replay.

The user can easily change the port number on which API Multicast is listening, allow the API to listen on a specific IP address or for any IP address, change the port number of the Bitcoin mining API, as well as to change the multipool strategy from failover to even share balance.

Among other options, we can mention the ability to disable getblocktemplate support, disable getwork support, enable debug logging and output, execute commands when a device is declared dead or sick, set coinbase signature and payout address for solo mining, run the program in benchmark or intensive benchmark modem set klondike options, load a configuration file in the JSON-format, display statistics and extra work time debug information.

This is a cross-platform software that runs well on all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as on the Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X and OpenWrt operating systems. It is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit instruction set architectures, though a 64-bit system is recommended for Bitcoin mining. The program is written entirely in the C programming language.
