Beaker Browser is an open-source project that wants to change how we find and share content online. It uses cool peer-to-peer technology and the experimental Dat protocol to make this happen.
The Beaker Browser looks a lot like other web browsers you might have used. You can easily visit any website, keep several pages open using tabs, save your favorite sites, manage downloads, and check your browsing history without any hassle.
This browser uses DuckDuckGo as its default search engine. So, if you want to look something up, just type what you're looking for right in the address bar!
Beaker Browser has handy features like back and forward buttons. Plus, it supports universal hotkeys for actions like reloading a page. It makes browsing super simple!
Every time you open a new tab in Beaker Browser, a Settings panel pops up. Here, you can see your favorite websites, go through your browsing history, or check out your downloaded files.
This area also lets you use the Dat protocol to create archives that other apps can access too—just give them the link! You can make as many Dat projects as you'd like and even add a little description for each one.
You get to choose which files to include in your Dat archive by dragging and dropping them or using the Finder menu. It’s super straightforward!
In short, Beaker Browser is an easy-to-use web browser that brings innovative tech right into your hands. You can create and manage peer-to-peer transfers all from within the app! And guess what? You can even host web pages directly in the browser itself! Just create a Dat archive with all your project files and folders.
