What is ATOM Library for .NET?

ATOM Library for .NET

ATOM Library is a .NET class library for ATOM specification designed to provide you with a reusable object model for writing and parsing ATOM feeds.

Key Features:

  • Supports versions 0.3 and 1.0 with all constructs.

  • Reads feeds that do not adhere precisely to the ATOM specification and are 'loose' in their interpretation.

  • Complete integration with Visual Studio.NET 2003/Visual Studio 2005/Visual Web Developer.

  • Reads feeds from Windows Common Feed List.

  • All underlying functions, including parsing, manipulating, and creating XML elements and attributes, are handled internally by the library.

Technical Specifications:

  • Compatible with .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 2.x.

  • Can be used in a desktop application, a Web Service, or in ASP.NET web page.

  • Reading and writing of feed files can be easily accomplished with a single method call on an ATOMFeed object.

  • Generation of strongly typed classes for ATOM feeds including strongly typed channel, items, image, handler based on an ATOM URL or a file.

  • Allows reading password-protected feeds. The library can parse username and password information from a URL as well as accept credentials as parameters programmatically provided.

Additional Features:

  • Feed streams can be filtered and merged from a series of existing feeds to create whole new feeds.

  • PingBack and TrackBack protocols are supported.

  • AutoDiscovery supported from a LINK tag.

  • Transform feeds from one version to the other on the fly.

  • Includes a SqlHelper class for high performance when creating dynamic feeds.

  • Extensive exception handling and logging framework.

Limitations:

• 20 days trial
