Asus G50 OLED
Asus G50 OLED is a handy Java daemon that shows system monitoring info on the tiny (256x32) OLED display you’ll find on ASUS G50/G70/G71 models (USB ID: 0b05:175b). It’s also compatible with ASUS G1/G2 (128x32 / USB ID: 0b05:1726).
What Does it Display?
This little display can show a bunch of cool stuff:
- Load on your machine
- CPU usage, broken down into User, System, IOWait, and Idle
- Total traffic IN and OUT across all interfaces
- Battery level
- Current time and date
- Operating frequencies for each core right now
- HDD temperature from smartctl
- CPU temperature
- Message notifications from Kopete and Thunderbird
- What's currently playing in Amarok or Kaffeine
- A snapshot from ASUS G1
Customize Your Display!
You can mix things up by changing where everything goes! Rearrange the layout to your heart's content. You can enable or disable each module as you like. Plus, if you’re feeling creative, you can even write your own modules to do some fancy monitoring.

- The latest version of the asus_oled driver:
You'll need version 2.6.29-rc1+ which has the driver in the staging section. Just select CONFIG_ASUS_OLED. - (Windows isn’t supported at this time.)
