Apple Firmware Restoration CD is a tool you need if your Mac's firmware update goes wrong. Before downloading, remember that your rights to use this update come with a software license agreement. By downloading or using it, you're saying yes to those terms!
You can only use this CD if your computer has had an interrupted or failed firmware update. If that's the case, you'll need to grab another Mac to download the software and create the CD. Alternatively, you can visit an Apple Store or an authorized service provider for help with restoring your firmware.
This CD can be made on either PowerPC or Intel-based Macs but will only work on Intel-based Macs. Just keep in mind that restoring your firmware will reset some settings back to their defaults.
Your files are now being burned onto the disc!
If you need to restore your firmware back to factory conditions, follow these steps:
A startup beep will sound after about 30-60 seconds, and a progress bar will show up under the Apple logo on a gray screen. This means your firmware is updating!
Please DO NOT unplug, shut down, or restart during this process! If you do, you'll have to start all over from step six.
If you'd like more info about this process, check out Apple's support page at: Apple Support.
You must agree to the Software License Agreement before downloading or using this update: Software License Agreement.
If you want to get started with restoring your Mac’s firmware, make sure you accept that agreement first!
