Alv FOR LINUX
Alv is a totally free command-line software (a single C file) designed especially to verify the archive log of an Oracle database. In other words, with Alv, system administrators will be able to verify Oracle database logs before their use in recovery operations. However, this simple, yet powerful command-line utility can also be useful when preparing sets of logs before they are archived on a tape media. Alv is distributed as a single 'C' source file, which can be easily compiled with a supported GCC compiler under any Linux or BSD operating system.
