What is Abacus Math Writer?

Abacus MathWriter

Abacus MathWriter is a handy tool that works with Microsoft Word and other text editing programs. It helps you create documents filled with all kinds of math expressions. You can think of it like this: MathWriter makes these expressions into bitmap images, which you can then pop into your Word documents as pictures. Pretty cool, right?

How Does MathWriter Work?

So, how does it all come together? Well, MathWriter operates in two main steps:

  • You first build your expression on the Construction Panel.

  • Then, you convert that expression into a bitmap image using the Save Image Panel.

Saving Your Work Made Easy

No one likes losing their hard work! That’s why there are options to save your progress at both stages. Your expressions get saved in the “Expressions” sub-folder as *.exp files, while the images go into the “Images” sub-folder as *.bmp files.

Getting the Best Print Quality

If you're looking for top-notch printer quality, here’s a tip: start by creating your diagrams on the Construction Panel in a larger size. Then, when you're ready to use them in Word, shrink them down using the Save Image Panel.
