Creation of playlists for MP3 players and iTunes
If you have a folder with a bunch of subfolders containing MP3 files you can create m3u playlist containing all the MP3s.
Step by step instructions:
Specify top level folder in “Dir:” field (for example c:\music\mp3s) and type *.mp3 in “Search for:” field “Containing Text:” field must be empty;
Select “Search” from application context menu;
Application will perform search and show results in windows Notepad;
Save the text in Notepad as file with extension m3u (for example c:\temp\mymp3s.m3u). Do not forget to select type “All Files” in “Save As” dialog (otherwise notepad will save file with extension “mp3.txt”).
The m3u file can be played using the following players: XMMS, foobar2000, JuK, Windows Media Player, iTunes and JetAudio.
To import the file into iTunes select “Import” from “File” menu , choose M3U file type in “Import” dialog and select a file to import.
