Welcome WindowsCommander widget user.

The widget allows the user to run windows commands, explore folders and execute searches. Using the widget you can also create playlists for mp3 players and iTunes.

Features of the version (1.0.2):

User Interface features:

Run: -- execute command specified in the associated text window; can be invoked by pressing return "Enter/Return" in the text window or from the context menu.

Dir: -- explore directory (folder) specified in the associated text window. Can be activated either from context menu or by pressing "Enter/Return" inside the text window. If you type the URL in the field in form like http://www.url.com – it will be opened in the default Internet browser.

Search for -- type all or part of the file name or folder you want to find;

Containing Text -- text to search for.

History – next to the right corner of “Run: and ”Dir” input fields are history buttons (small triangles), which will show a pop-up with history of user input for the associated input field.

Bookmarks handling – right clicking on “Run: and ”Dir” input fields will open a context menu with bookmarks and bookmarks handling commands. There is a separate set of bookmarks for each category.

Search will be started from directory specified in "Dir:" field.

Search can be activated either from context menu or by pressing "Enter/Return" inside "Search for" or "Containing Text" field.

Search results will be displayed in notepad.

Creation of playlists for MP3 players and iTunes

If you have a folder with a bunch of subfolders containing MP3 files you can create m3u playlist containing all the MP3s.

Step by step instructions:

The m3u file can be played using the following players: XMMS, foobar2000, JuK, Windows Media Player, iTunes and JetAudio.

To import the file into iTunes select “Import” from “File” menu , choose M3U file type in “Import” dialog and select a file to import.
