Main Window

SkookumMorse has two text input fields in the main window. The Their Call field is optional, and accepts only characters that comprise a legitimate callsign (letters, numbers, forward slash). Whatever text is in that field is sent when SkookumMorse encounters the tilde (~) character in either a message or the keyboard input field. If you modify the Their Call field content while SkookumMorse is sending it in a message, the Right Thing happens with any character modifications that haven't yet been sent.
The large text field is the Keyboard field. Anything you type here, or transfer in via copy-paste or drag-and-drop, will be displayed by SkookumMorse, but only characters understood by WinKeyer will result in Morse code output. Two special characters, tilde (~) and grave accent (`) are converted to callsigns by SkookumMorse. Other unrecognized characters are simply ignored.
You can edit the content of the Keyboard field with the usual Mac OS X techniques while Pause is checked. Changes made to text that has already been sent will have no effect.
Check the Beacon box and tap F1 to begin sending the F1 message endlessly. The delay between each message is determined by the Interval setting. Tap the Reset button, the escape key, or the paddle to stop the loop and uncheck the box.
SkookumMorse will continue sending when it isn't the active application. You can use this feature to run a CQ loop while dealing with email, for example.
