Quiffler Help

Some banks offer credit card statements in QIF format that are incorrectly formatted for import into personal finance packages. These QIF files contain debit transactions that are marked as credits, and credits that are marked as withdrawals.

Quiffler has two functions:

Step 1

Quiffler validates the QIF file and checks whether it is already in the correct format or not. If the file is already in the correct format, Quiffler will show a dialogue box asking whether it can continue or not before proceeding further.

Step 2

If the file is detected to be invalid, or if permission to continue is granted, Quiffler will invert all transactions. All withdrawals will become credits and vice versa.

The Preferences dialogue for Quiffler sets whether converted files keep their old name or whether '-converted' is appended to the filename.
