Here is where the manner in which the files are compared with the CDFinder catalogs is set up.
Find in:
Determines if the search is made in the selected catalogs or in all of the catalogs in the global path. The global path is set up in the CDFinder preferences.
Comparison criteria:
there are eight criteria that can be selected. The comparison first starts with the file name. If the name already exists in the catalog the the selected criteria are used to verify if it is the same file.
The criteria are: Modification date, Creation date, Long version, Short version, File creator, File type, Kind** and Size.
Depending on the sort of file being compared, certain criteria cannot be used, even if they are selected, e.g.: the size of a package* is not significant and is never used as a criterion. Packages and compressed files are never opened by Incremental.
*package:
(package or bundle) These are folders that appear to be simple files. An application, for example, is a package.
**Kind this information is not always reliable because it can be modified by the user.
