If you are one of the lucky ones who grabbed the latest Windows 10 Technical Preview, then you're in for a treat! The Yosemite Black Theme For Windows 10 Technical Preview is here to give your desktop a fresh look that mirrors OS X Yosemite. This theme comes in four cool versions that change up the colors of your windows and background.
Now, installing this theme isn’t just a simple click from the 'Personalization' menu. You’ve got to follow a few steps to get it working right. First off, you'll need to use the Uxtheme package. Just a heads up: Uxtheme isn’t fully ready for Windows 10 yet, so you might run into some bumps along the way.
After you've rebooted your system, install Ribbon Disabler, log off, and then log back into Windows. Next, you'll want to copy the contents of the 'Theme' folder right into C:\\Windows\\Resources\\Themes. This step is super important!
You have four awesome versions to choose from: Yosemite Black-Blue, Yosemite Black-Blue2, Yosemite Black-Gray, or Yosemite Black-Gray2. Each version has its own unique window colors and address bar styles.
Once you’ve got everything installed, your default wallpaper will switch to a vibrant abstract design that fits perfectly with that classy OS X Yosemite vibe. Plus, both your Explorer window and Start Menu will change colors based on which theme you picked—black or grey! And let’s not forget about the taskbar; it gets a makeover too, closely resembling what you'd see on OS X Yosemite.
A lot of folks love switching things up on their computers for a fresh experience. If you’re looking to bring that OS X Yosemite style right onto your Windows 10 machine, give this theme a shot!
