Yoink is a super handy macOS tool that makes your work life a lot easier. Seriously, once you start using it, you’ll wonder why it’s not already on your Mac!
This app gives you a small window that hangs out at the edge of your screen while you move things around. So, when you're dragging files or app content, you can just drop them into the Yoink window. You can then keep navigating to where you want those items to go without stressing about releasing your mouse too soon.
The cool thing about Yoink is that it only pops up when you need it. When you start dragging something, a transparent window shows up on the left side of your screen. It’s like having a little helper who quietly waits until it's time to shine!
Just drag and drop whatever you need into the Yoink window and keep doing your thing! You can even drag multiple files at once. This means no more annoying back-and-forth trips between windows—how great is that?
If you're particular about how things look, you'll love the options in the Yoink status bar menu. You can decide whether the window sits on the left or right edge of your screen, or even in the top, center, or bottom area. Plus, there are different sizes to choose from: default (which holds up to three items), big, or small. You can also have it automatically adjust based on what you're working with.
You get even more customization in the Yoink Preferences window! For example, do you want the window to pop up whenever you start dragging something? Or maybe only when your mouse touches the edge of the screen? You can set all that up! And if you'd rather not see it triggered by certain apps, there's an option to ignore those as well.
