What is XCode32?

XCode32 is a handy command line tool that helps you protect your files with a password. It does this by running a mathematical calculation on each byte of the file. What's cool is that it works both ways! This means you can use the same process for encoding and decoding your files.

How to Use XCode32

Using XCode32 is super easy. You can add it to your SendTo folder in your user profile, which makes things even more convenient! Just select one or more files, right-click, and choose "Send To" then pick XCode32. In no time, your files are protected!

Understanding Bidirectional Encoding

So what exactly is bidirectional encoding? When you XCcode a file using a key, you'll just need to use the same key to get back to the original file format. The key can be between 1 and 50 bytes long and keep in mind that it's case-sensitive!

Security Note

NOTE: While XCode32 provides some level of security, it's important to know that it isn't foolproof. Professionals could crack encoded files fairly easily, so it's best not to rely on it for super sensitive information.
