Winpad Layout is a cool app that helps you organize your desktop windows just like the number pad on your keyboard! You can easily move and resize windows by holding down Ctrl and hitting different combinations of the 1-9 keys on your numeric pad.
This program is basically the Windows version of the macOS Keypad Layout app, and it works almost the same way. It splits your desktop into nine sections arranged in a neat 3x3 grid—just like a numeric keypad!
To move or resize windows, all you need to do is press Ctrl along with one or more of the number keys. For example, if you hit Ctrl and tap 1 twice, that window will shrink and slide down to the bottom left corner of your screen. Want to create a two-window setup? Just press Ctrl+5+9, and boom! You’ll have a 2x2 window in the top-right corner. It’s super intuitive once you get used to it.
If you're feeling stuck with how to use it, don’t worry! There’s a handy list of examples available on GitHub for the macOS version, and those commands work exactly the same in the Windows app.
Once you download Winpad Layout, you can fire it up from anywhere. The best part? It doesn’t save any data on your computer, so if you decide it's not for you, there’s nothing left behind!
The app minimizes right into your system tray when you launch it. There’s no complicated setup needed! Plus, if at any time you want to close it down, just right-click its icon in the tray.
Overall, Winpad Layout is super helpful if you're juggling multiple windows regularly. It lets you shift and resize them with just a couple key presses. It's easy to use too—it runs quietly in the background without getting in your way!
