WinGet is a tiny, yet powerful download manager that can handle big tasks way faster than many other similar tools out there.

Once you go through the quick installation, you’ll see its user-friendly interface. It’s really simple to get the hang of it. WinGet even integrates into your web browser, so you don’t have to add links manually. Just keep in mind that this feature currently works only with Internet Explorer.

Speed Test Results

We did a little test by downloading a 1.44GB file using WinGet and compared it with other managers. Guess what? WinGet zipped through it in about ten minutes, while the others took over twenty minutes. So yeah, WinGet really shines when downloading larger files!

Keeping Track of Downloads

You won’t see how long each download takes, but you can check the speed and when it finishes. Plus, all your downloads are saved in the History section for easy tracking.

Diving into the Settings menu lets you customize quite a bit! You can specify what types of files WinGet should grab automatically, change languages, tweak connection settings (like how many downloads at once or speed limits), and even set up proxy settings.

You can save usernames and passwords for quick logins on certain servers too! Want your computer to shut down after downloads? No problem! You can also let WinGet disconnect from the Internet when it’s done or choose a preferred virus scanner to check files before they’re saved. There are options for sounds as well—default or custom—and connecting via FTP if needed!

A Small Drawback

The only hiccup we found was that sometimes when you double-click a file to open it, there’s a slight delay while WinGet loads it (it freezes for a few seconds). But overall, it doesn’t use much CPU or memory.
