Windows File Manager is a cool throwback to the good old days of Microsoft, especially if you remember how amazing it was when Windows 3.0 came out in the early '90s. But even if you weren't around then, or just want to know what that version was like, you've got to check this out!

What Makes It Special?

Some talented folks at Microsoft decided to bring back this classic file manager and make it open-source! That means it works with all Windows versions, including Windows 10! Pretty neat, right?

Modern Touches

Now, don't expect it to look exactly like the original. They've given it some upgrades! For instance, there's a handy context menu and keyboard shortcuts. If you loved the style of Windows XP, you'll be excited to see those familiar XP bars in the smaller windows of the Multiple Document Interface (MDI). But don't worry; the main window will still match whatever current operating system you're using.

Navigating Made Easy

This file manager features dual panes in each smaller window so you can easily navigate your disk tree while viewing files and folders. You can do things like copy, move, or rename items. Plus, there's an option to run command lines as an admin, start Command Prompt, jump between directories, compress files for easier storage, and even link files to their corresponding applications.

User-Friendly Options

You'll also find options for connecting drives and sorting files in different ways. Searching for specific files is super easy too! You can customize your font and toolbar settings as well as turn off those annoying confirmation messages when you delete or replace files.
