Description
Windows 7/8 Commands is a lightweight widget that provides shortcuts to some Windows utilities, right on your desktop. It mainly addresses users who frequently access these areas, such as network administrators.
The interface of the app is based on a small frame that you can move to any position on the screen, with the help of the mouse cursor.
You can access msconfig.exe, System Properties, Disk Management, Device Manager, Services, Administrative Tools, Device and Printers, Network Connections, Programs and Features, as well as Windows Features.
Unfortunately, Windows 7/8 Commands does not comprise any customizable settings of its own. For example, you cannot add new system tools to the list, delete or edit the existing ones, as well as personalize the UI appearance.
However, thanks to the default settings provided by the operating system, you can open the context menu to make the frame stay on top of other windows, as well as to set its opacity level to a predefined value, ranging from 20% to 100%.
Windows 7/8 Commands is very light on the system resources, so it doesn't burden the computer's overall activity. It has a good response time and works well, without hanging, crashing or showing error notifications; we haven't come across any issues in our tests. On the downside, Windows 7/8 Commands has not been updated for a pretty long time.
