Description

Windows 7 Kiosk

Windows 7 Kiosk is a solid software tool designed to help you keep public computers safe from unwanted actions by users. It’s all about protecting those machines so they can only be used for the right purposes.

Easy to Use with Some Tech Skills

The interface is pretty straightforward, but having some IT knowledge will definitely make it easier when you set it up. Don’t worry, though! They provide a handy text file and even a video on their homepage that walks you through everything step-by-step. This way, you won't waste time figuring things out on your own. Plus, the documentation includes user and admin passwords, which are essential if you need to pause protection for an hour—just keep in mind that this time isn't adjustable.

Getting Started with Windows 7 Kiosk

The first time you launch Windows 7 Kiosk, a message will pop up telling you to check out the documentation. You really need to do this because if you skip it, that annoying dialog will keep showing up every time you want to protect your machine.

Selecting Functions to Disable

The main window of the app lets you choose what functions and tools you want to turn off. You can deactivate things like File Explorer, Task Manager, keyboard shortcuts, and even web browsers like Internet Explorer or Firefox. There’s also a blacklist.txt file in the app's folder where you can specify processes that should be blocked.

Control and Timing Features

You can disable right-click mouse actions or force certain processes to run too! Want more control? You can even set a timer for when the protection kicks in or out. Once you're ready, just hit ‘Protect’ and all those restrictions will be applied immediately. If someone tries to do something they shouldn’t, they'll see a message letting them know it's not allowed.

Easily Pause or Quit Protection

If you need to make changes while it's running, just press the ‘Pause Break’ key twice and enter either the admin or user password. This gives you an hour of access before it goes back into protective mode. If you're done with it altogether, just click ‘Quit’.

A Handy Tool for Public PCs

In summary, Windows 7 Kiosk is super useful for managing what people can do on public computers. It keeps everything secure and stable without requiring much effort from your side! For more information or to download it directly, check out this link: Download Windows 7 Kiosk!
