Description

WebScout

WebScout is a super easy-to-set-up HTTP and SOCKS 5 proxy that helps you share, monitor, and filter Internet access for different web browsers and apps.

Easy Configuration

With WebScout, you get a user-friendly interface that makes it simple to create rules about what online activity is allowed and what should be blocked. Want to deny access to a site? No problem! You can even add your own custom error message to let users know about your Acceptable Usage Policy.

Custom Access Rules

You can set up rules based on things like the workstation, username, time of access, or even the specific website. For instance, you can block yahoo.com/games or all EXE files altogether. Plus, if you want to allow access only during lunch hours, that's totally doable!

Speed Throttling

Besides just blocking sites, you can also slow down certain requests so they don’t jam up your network. You might want to throttle downloads of MP3s or ZIP files to just 10 KB/s per user.

User Monitoring

WebScout comes with a handy usage counter that tracks how much bandwidth and time each user spends online daily, weekly, or monthly. You can set limits for users too; if someone goes over their limit, their Internet access gets restricted.

Socks 5 Proxy Benefits

The new SOCKS 5 proxy means you can keep an eye on more types of Internet programs like FTP and P2P file-sharing apps. It also has built-in filters for ads and adult content. Plus, all Internet activity can be logged into a text file or just the blocked requests—it's up to you!

Password Protection & Authentication

The latest update adds Active Directory and NT domain authentication so users can use their existing Windows password for Internet access. And don’t worry about others messing with settings; they can be password-protected too! WebScout runs quietly in the background as a Windows service.
