Description
WebMon
WebMon is a super handy app made for web developers and anyone else who wants to keep an eye on updates from their favorite websites. It’s really easy to use, which is great for both pros and casual users.
Simple Interface for Easy Navigation
The interface might not be the most stylish out there, but it's straightforward enough to get around. You can easily add a new webpage by just entering its address, giving it a description, and setting how often you want it checked—like in minutes, hours, or even days.
Customize Your Notifications
If you prefer to see something other than the main page when updates happen, you can set up an alternative page to pop up in your browser. Plus, if you don't want WebMon to check every little thing on the page—like ads or banners—you can narrow down what it looks for.
Smart Content Monitoring
This app lets you define exactly where it should start and stop looking for new content based on specific text that you choose. The details of what it finds are shown at the bottom of the panel, so having some web design know-how can help make things easier. But don't worry—a search function is included!
Stay Updated with Notifications
Once everything is set up, you'll get a little notification with sound popping up from the bottom-right corner of your desktop whenever there's an update. Just click on it and boom! The webpage opens right away.
Importing and Exporting Made Easy
WebMon also allows you to import webpages from Internet Explorer favorites and HTML bookmarks from any browser. You can easily export and import settings in WebMon format too!
User-Friendly Features
You can minimize WebMon to your system tray, tweak existing monitors' settings, copy addresses quickly to your Clipboard, search through listed URLs easily, view detailed logs in TXT, XML or HTML formats—basically everything you need at your fingertips!
Tweak Your Preferences
If you're not into pop-up alerts or sounds when updates come through, no worries! You can turn those off or change where they appear on your screen. Plus, there are options for adjusting connection settings as well as transfer timeouts.
A Lightweight Tool That Works Well
The cool thing about WebMon is that it hardly uses any CPU or RAM space at all! So it won't slow down your computer while doing its job. We didn’t run into any issues during our tests either. While it's not packed with features like some other tools (like Webmonit), it's still pretty solid considering it's free!
