WebDAVNav Server is a free and super easy desktop app for macOS. It helps you set up a basic WebDAV server to share files with other computers on your network and even with nearby iOS devices.
Using WebDAVNav Server is a breeze! You just pick the folder you want to share and hit the “Start” button. Seriously, it’s that simple!
If you want, you can choose a different port (the default one is 8080) and add authentication details like a username and password. This gives you more control over who can access your shared files.
Once the server is up and running, you can connect using the address that shows up in the middle of your screen. You can use any standard WebDAV client, including Finder on your Mac. Just go to the “Go” menu, select “Go to Server,” enter the address along with your login details, and boom—you’re in!
The authentication settings are great for keeping things secure. They stop anyone from hopping onto your server without knowing your username and password.
When you're connected to your server, you can do all sorts of things with the files in that folder—like move, copy, rename, download, or upload files and folders as needed.
WebDAVNav Server is an easy-to-use tool for setting up basic WebDAV servers right on your Mac. While it only lets you share one folder at a time, getting it set up is simple enough that anyone can do it—no tech skills required! And did I mention? It’s totally free!
